PSKrep (“the App”) is a mobile client for PSKReporter.info built by Kaan Yaren (“we”, “us”). The App is designed with privacy by default: it does not require an account, does not ask for your name or email, and does not sell, rent, or share any of your data with third parties.
The only data the App retrieves is publicly broadcast amateur-radio reception reports from the public PSKReporter.info API and MQTT feeds. These reports are produced and published by third-party radio operators worldwide and contain only callsign, frequency, mode, SNR, location, and timestamp — never your personal information.
ad_removed flag after the optional Pro purchase. No data ever leaves your device.retrieve.pskreporter.info and the public MQTT broker to fetch live spot reports. Requests are made from your device directly to these public services. When you use the App, your device makes requests to PSKReporter.info using their public API. PSKReporter.info is an independent service operated by Philip Gladstone; please consult their own privacy policy for the data they may log on their side (typically standard server logs: IP address, user-agent, timestamp).
| Permission | Why it’s needed |
|---|---|
| Location (foreground) | To centre the map on your station and draw propagation paths to stations hearing you. Never sent off-device. |
| Internet | To fetch the live XML and MQTT spot feed from PSKReporter.info. |
| Notifications (Android) | To display foreground-service status when background propagation monitoring is enabled (opt-in, off by default in some builds). |
| Foreground service (Android) | To keep the MQTT subscription alive while the app is in the background — only used if you enable it in Settings. |
You can revoke the location permission at any time from your device’s Settings. The App will continue to work; only your own station won’t appear on the map.
The App uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us so we can address the concern.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the App or in applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be highlighted in the release notes on the GitHub releases page.
